Crib Sets Are Better and Are Not So Expensive

You can find any kind of crib bedding you can possibly imagine, from crib sets for little girls to boy crib bedding to gender neutral bedding. If you are not sure what you want for bedding, you may be tempted to pick out separates, but you should consider how much it’s going to cost you. Crib bedding sets are exactly the same as buying a “bed in a bag” for an adult’s bed. Buying a baby bedding set will give you more confidence that everything will look right together, and some extra (matching) crib sheets are easy to find.

There will be multiple different variations of fabrics and colors, so try to decide ahead of time what it is you’re looking for. First time parent might be attracted to the luxury of silk, but to be honest, it’s not particularly practical. Babies are messy and silk is hard to clean. Buying a new bedding set can make a huge change in the look of the nursery, so you may be able to redecorate by doing nothing more than changing the crib bedding.

Whether you know the gender of your new baby or not, make sure you buy bedding that’s going to make sense. There’s a bit of a double standard in crib bedding, though. Pink is a no for a boy, but blue is OK in a girl’s room. It’s not something you’ll need to worry about much, though. Manufacturers make what people buy, so you’ll most likely find what you want anyway. Great boys’ themes include trains, planes, and automobiles, but alos sports themes like baseball or football crib bedding. While there are plenty of pastel sets for boys, they seem to more often include bright colors like reds and oranges.A girl’s nursery is often ultra-feminine, incorporating flowers and frills. Soft colors and pastels are more common for a feminine nursery. There are also plenty of gender-neutral options, like cartoon characters, animals, and the solar system.

Custom made bedding is another option, but probably one that’s not worth the cost unless you want something very specific. If you or a family member knows how to sew, think about making the bedding. It’s a great way to save some money AND it will create a family heirloom to be passed down through generations. Although baby bedding can be hard to choose, a good idea of what you want and how much you can spend will make the job much easier.
