Being pregnant in the summer.
Being pregnant you should always control your body temperature in order not to put your baby to risk. This is more difficult to do in summer. This article will serve you as a manual on how not to overheat.
Your baby will not be affected by the heat if you try not to dehydrate greatly. To follow this rule it’s recommended to drink much water (icy drinks such as juices are also possible), take shower (not too hot and not to cool) or you can spend time near water basins (both natural and artificial as pools).
You should choose your clothing carefully. It’s a good idea to provide yourself with light-colored and loose-fitting clothes in order not to sweat much and let the air easily blow on you. Don’t forget that right in the sun you should appear only with a covered head (But it’s still better to stay in the shade).
Moderate your nutrition. It’s better to give the preference to light food (vegetables, fruits), otherwise metabolism can be increased and as a consequence your body temperature will rise due to great moisture loss.
Bear in mind that calm conditions will favour great heat output. Therefore relax, sleep much and eventually devote this time to yourself – make a facial mask, read a book, drink cool juice or just watch a TV.
If your apartment isn’t furnished with a conditioner, remember to open windows to air your room. There’s also a possibility to sponge your body down with a wet towel.
There’re also plenty of other ways how to maintain the same temperature, find your own way or ask your health care expert for advice.
